Alternative concept and design

I used the initial sun painting technique to try and create a smoother, simpler design that still looks like a sun. I also used this image for inspiration, I like how it has rays coming out of the sun. This is similar to what I want to portray through this design. I am going to use this design instead of the two hand prints because that concept didn't work as well as I had hoped. Below is the painting that I did of the sun using acrylic paint, then the first tracing by the pen tool in illustrator, next is the refined sun that is less complicated and slightly smoother. The third is the final design before a few edges where created even smoother. I think this concept works well to depict the connection to Australia and growth through the sun image and simple, light and slightly curved text makes it appear like part of the landscape; almost like a sunrise.
